Brendan Stanton,
Assistant Suffolk County Executive for Communications and New Media, will highlight ways to use new and social media tools to achieve coverage in traditional media. Brendan will discuss the proliferation of new media applications, the opportunities they present, the hazards they pose, and offer advice on what new media applications can work for you.
Brendan earned a Bachelor of the Arts from The George Washington University in 2005. He completed additional coursework in the Graduate School of Political Management and the Media. While in D.C., Brendan interned for current DCCC Chairman Congressman Steve Israel and former DSCC Chairman Senator Charles E. Schumer. Upon graduation Brendan became staff to a senior member of the prestigious House Appropriations Committee. In 2006, Brendan returned to Long Island as chief communications staffer for the Suffolk Legislature’s Economic Development Committee. Brendan was subsequently recruited to be a top communications aide to the Suffolk Executive in 2009, where he remains today. Brendan was born on St. Patrick’s Day, loves to play rugby and is a rabid New York Jet fan.
