Announcing the New Board of Directors
The Board of Directors for 2011-12 were elected in June and will serve for one year, through June 2012. While it is a smaller group than usual, this Board is very enthusiastic and is working hard to continue providing programs and other benefits that are up to our usual high standards.
Continuing as President is Ann Middleman, ADM Marketing & Research Consulting. Vice President and Treasurer is Cindi Guthrie, of Cablevision. She is joined by her colleagues Margaret DeLuca, Secretary and Membership Chair, and Michael Casano, Communications Chair. We welcome your participation and help for programming, communications, public relations, and membership. If you want to get extra value from your membership--or if you want to help out as a way of "trying us out," contact
Ann Middleman.
Brand New Venue for IABC-LI Meetings!
Starting in September, IABC-LI meetings will be held at the centrally located
Huntington Hilton, 598 Broadhollow Road, Melville, about 1/2 mile south of the Long Island Expressway Exit 49 (Rte 110S). The Hilton is a magnet for Long Island business functions of all kinds and is able to provide appropriate meeting rooms, amenities, and menus to suit our needs. We expect to continue with buffet lunch meetings, as the buffet offer attendees a variety of dishes from which to choose without the distraction and disruption of a wait staff bringing and removing dishes throughout our meetings.
The Huntington Hilton also offers a spacious and well-appointed lobby for you if you arrive a little early or if you care to continue a conversation after the meeting is over. It is easy to get there, but if you haven't been there yet, click here for
directions.

Volunteering at IABC
Here are some testimonials from IABC members that are the best articulations of the value and benefit of participation in IABC.
"IABC has enriched my life in many career altering ways. My first experience came with attendance at Leadership Institute shortly after joining. The tools available and willingness to openly share best practices amazed me as I was like a fresh sponge absorbing all that was for the offering. I have learned so much about leadership from IABC and have met people from all voer the world who have influenced my career."
Audraine Jackson, President, Jackson Communications, Atlanta
"Having access to the world's best business communication talent through volunteering at IABC has not only increased my own knowledge but also launched my business into new markets. It has, more importantly, provided me with lifelong friendships and a network of virtual business partners across the globe."
Adrian Cropley, ABC, Director, Cropley Communication, Melbourne, Australia, and Chair of IABC International
